Al-Hilal Makes Waves with High-Profile Signings

Al-Hilal, under the guidance of Simone Inzaghi, has made history by becoming the first Asian club to defeat a Premier League side in an official match, having beaten Manchester City at the Club World Cup last month. Now, the Saudi Arabian powerhouse is making headlines once again with a series of high-profile signings.

The latest addition to Al-Hilal's roster is Darwin Nunez, who has joined the club from Liverpool on a three-year deal. The Uruguayan striker, who scored five goals in Liverpool's title-winning campaign last season, has moved to Al-Hilal for an initial fee of approximately £46.2 million (€53 million), with add-ons that could potentially raise the total value of the deal to around £56.6 million (€65 million).

Nunez's departure from Liverpool is contributing to their expenditure of nearly 300 million pounds for the 2025-26 season. The exact financial details of the move were not disclosed by either club.

Nunez struggled for consistency at Liverpool, starting only eight league matches during their title-winning campaign last season. He found himself on the fringes of the first team, managing to score 40 goals and provide 26 assists in 143 games in all competitions.

Al-Hilal has also strengthened its attack with the signing of French forward Hugo Ekitike for a transfer fee of 69 million pounds, with add-ons.

Inzaghi's new side, Al-Hilal, is aiming to secure a record-extending 20th league title this season. The club finished second in the Saudi Pro League last term and is confident of regaining the top spot this year.

Another high-profile signing for Al-Hilal is Germany playmaker Florian Wirtz, who joined the club for a club-record fee of up to 116 million pounds. Theo Hernandez has also joined Al-Hilal from AC Milan.

These signings mark a significant boost for Al-Hilal as they prepare for the new season, and fans are eager to see how these new additions will perform on the pitch.

Al-Hilal's latest high-profile signing, Darwin Nunez, departed from Liverpool for a deal that could be worth around £56.6 million (€65 million), making waves in European leagues as the Saudi Arabian powerhouse reinvigorates its football roster. The new acquisitions, including Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, and Theo Hernandez, are expected to help Al-Hilal secure a record-extending 20th league title this season, causing excitement among fans as they look forward to the forthcoming season.
