Urgent Plea to OB Scharmann: "Michael,finish covering up in your swimwear!"
The quaint town of Weinstadt is buzzing with anticipation as the opening of its new indoor swimming pool, "Das W", approaches. On Saturday, September 20, 2022, the current mayor, Michael Scharmann, is expected to take part in the festivities.
The name "Das W" symbolizes water, wine, Weinstadt, joy, well-being, warmth, waves, and a wake-up call. The pool is not the first multi-million dollar swimming facility to open in times of tight belts and empty pockets, but it promises to be a significant addition to the town's amenities.
Mayor Scharmann's participation in the opening ceremony is set to include a special action, such as a jump into the water or involvement in a lifeguard exercise. However, the exact nature of his involvement in the lifeguard exercise is yet to be confirmed.
This isn't the first time a mayor has added a touch of excitement to a pool opening. Last summer, Korber Mayor, Jochen Müller, made headlines with a unique stunt. In a moment of spontaneity, he removed his tie, shoes, and socks and dove into a pool without swimwear, as part of a bet. After the pool dive, Müller commented, "There are many serious things going on right now, so a little fun is not wrong."
Whether Michael Scharmann will follow in Müller's footsteps remains to be seen. Reports suggest that he might be asked to join a lifeguard exercise during the opening ceremony. As the date approaches, the people of Weinstadt eagerly await the grand opening of "Das W" and the potential spectacle that may ensue.
