Urgent appeal from Billie Eilish, Cillian Murphy, Steve Coogan, and Joaquin Phoenix in support of Together For Palestine: Urge for an immediate ceasefire, halt the senseless violence and loss of lives.
On September 17, 2021, the OVO Arena Wembley in London will play host to a groundbreaking benefit concert, organized by British musician Brian Eno, titled Together for Palestine. This event aims to bring together artists, celebrities, and music lovers to stand in solidarity and raise voices for Palestine.
The lineup for the concert is nothing short of impressive, featuring an array of talented performers such as Damon Albarn, Bastille, Cat Burns, Greentea Peng, Hot Chip, James Blake, Jamie xx, and many more. Notable additions to the roster include Primal Scream, Inhaler, and Maverick Sabre, who will be performing at a separate event called 'Gig For Gaza', also curated by Paul Weller to support the people of Gaza.
Celeste, Leigh-Anne, PinkPantheress, Rina Sawayama, Riz Ahmed, Elyanna, Saint Levant, El Far3i, Paul Weller, Florence Pugh, Eric Cantona, and Neneh Cherry have also been announced as additional acts for the benefit show.
The concert will see appearances from Cillian Murphy, Joaquin Phoenix, Sharon Horgan, Steve Coogan, Annie Mac, Peter Gabriel, and Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas, who have all lent their voices to a video message for Together For Palestine.
Eno explained that the purpose of Together for Palestine is to stand together and say that the situation in Palestine cannot continue. He also expressed his regret of artists remaining silent about Palestine in the past due to fear of backlash or career end.
The money raised from the show will be distributed to Palestinian-led organizations such as Taawon, Palestine Children's Relief Fund, and Palestine Medical Relief Service. Eno has highlighted the relief efforts made by Amnesty International and Doctors Without Borders.
For those unable to attend the live event, the show will be live-streamed online. Additionally, an online shop for Together For Palestine offers merchandise for those who wish to support the cause.
In earlier this year, Billie Eilish called Israel's relocation plans for Gaza "horrifying". Her participation in Together for Palestine is a testament to her commitment to the cause.
