St. Wendel, a vibrant city known for its sporty spirit, is set to host an unforgettable event on June 27th and 28th, 2025. The "Speed Climbing in the City" event, organised by Mayor Peter Klär and co-organiser Michael Schultheis, promises to be a thrilling spectacle for both climbers and spectators alike.

The main organiser of this exciting event is the German Alpine Club (Deutscher Alpenverein, DAV). The event will take place at Schlossplatz, featuring a 17-meter-high mobile climbing wall by ArtRock.

June 27th is designated as a family afternoon, offering a range of activities for children and adults. Family Climbing on the Climbing Wall will be available from 2 PM to 6 PM, while Children's Climbing on the Bouldering Wall will also be available on the same day. In addition to climbing opportunities, there will be a bouncy castle, carousel, and other attractions to ensure an enjoyable day for all.

Boris Roeder from Ursapharm, the main sponsor of the event, believes that this event makes sport accessible and promotes togetherness. The social added value of the event is a key emphasis for Ursapharm. Co-organiser Michael Schultheis shares this sentiment, expressing his belief that the event will attract many people to St. Wendel, showcasing the city as lively and sporty.

On June 28th, the focus shifts to high-level sports. The Youth Competition will kick off at 1 PM, followed by the main competition at 5 PM. International athletes, including those from the top 10 of the Olympic Games in Paris and members of the German national team, will participate in the main competition.

Award Ceremonies will be held on both days. On June 27th, the ceremony will take place at the end of the family climbing session. On June 28th, an Award Ceremony will be held at 8 PM, following the Speed Climbing Party with live music, which starts at 8:30 PM.

International athletes will be presented on June 28th at 3 PM, providing an opportunity for spectators to meet their heroes. An event highlight will be the Main Competition, including qualification and final, which will take place on Saturday, June 28th at 5:00 PM.

This exciting event is open to everyone, with free admission on both days, June 27th and 28th. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to experience the thrill of speed climbing, enjoy family-friendly activities, and be a part of the lively and sporty atmosphere in St. Wendel.
