🔥 Ingolstadt's Bravest Gather for Yearly Get-Together 🚒

Martin von Kap-herr, commandant of the Ingolstadt City Center Volunteer Fire Department, recently led the team in reviewing their yearly accomplishments at their annual meeting. Here's a lowdown on what transpired!

💥 A Year in Numbers

The department tackled an impressive 185 incidents, comprising 78 fires, 45 standby calls, and various hazardous material and safety watch incidents. The team's commitment to the city's safety shone through with over 12,200 volunteer hours dedicated to operational and training duties. The roster swelled with four new adults and six new youth members, raising the membership total to 101. Von Kap-herr appreciatively acknowledged each firefighter's dedication.

🏹 Rising Stars of the Youth Fire Department

Martin Storzer, youth leader, updated the gathering on the Youth Fire Department's activities, with the camping weekend and large training exercises being highlights. An impressive 21 young members passed their knowledge test, and 12 passed the Bavarian Youth Performance Test.

🏆 Recognising Loyalty

Long-serving members received well-deserved recognition during the event: Simon Bachinger for 10 years, Marco Illein for 20 years, Sebastian Heim and Lothar Moeller for 30 years, and Henrik Behrends for 40 years of dedicated service. Similarly, many members were promoted, with Martin Schmieder promoted to Lieutenant, and Christoph Kreutzer and Rudolf Vierheilig promoted to Captain.

🌊 Heroes of the Flood

The meeting featured a heartfelt retrospective of the flood deployments in June, with 53 firefighters from the city center participating and receiving the "Flood Helper 2024" award for their unwavering commitment.

With unwavering team spirit and tireless dedication, the Ingolstadt City Center Volunteer Fire Department remains an essential pillar of the city community. 🌟
