Speed Climbing in the City: A Two-Day Event in St. Wendel, Germany

Get ready for an exciting weekend as St. Wendel, Germany, hosts the "Speed Climbing in the City" event from June 27th to June 28th, 2025. This thrilling event, organised by Mayor Peter Klär and Michael Schultheis, promises to create an unforgettable experience for the region.

On both days, admission is free, making it an accessible event for all. The festivities kick off on Friday, June 27th, with family-friendly activities from 2 PM to 6 PM. Children and adults alike can enjoy climbing the 17-meter-high mobile climbing wall, manufactured by ArtRock, as well as a bouncy castle and a carousel.

For the younger climbers, a children's climbing area on the bouldering wall will also be available during the same timeframe. A framework program with additional attractions will accompany these activities, ensuring a day filled with fun for the whole family.

On Saturday, June 28th, the event shifts focus to high-level sports. The day begins with a youth competition starting at 1 PM, followed by the main competition with qualification and final, which starts at 5 PM. The main competition features athletes from the top 10 of the Olympic Games in Paris and members of the German national team, with international top athletes expected to break the current world record of under five seconds.

At 3 PM on Saturday, these international athletes will be presented to the audience. The day concludes with an award ceremony at 8 PM, followed by a Speed Climbing Party with live music starting at 8:30 PM.

Boris Roeder from Ursapharm, the main sponsor of the event, supports it as it makes sports accessible and fosters a sense of community. Co-organizer Michael Schultheis believes the event will attract many people to St. Wendel, showcasing the city as lively and sporty.

Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to witness world-class speed climbing and enjoy a fun-filled family day. Mark your calendars for June 27th and 28th, 2025, and join us in St. Wendel for the Speed Climbing in the City event!
