Lighting Up the Skillscene: A Rollercoaster of Competitions Commences in Russia
brace yourselves, folks! The climate for professional skills in Russia is heating up, and it’s families with a series of electrifying competitions! The curtain rose on the Weldaplono - a mind-bending electric and gas welding brawl - on September 29, 2023, in the thunderous heart of Verkhnyaya Pyshma. The wrestling mat then shifted to Chelyabinsk on October 6, where the driving game was on, followed by the defiant turner battles in Sukhoy Log on October 13.
The Weldaplono anchored at the "Yunost" technical college in Verkhnyaya Pyshma, showcasing 24 electric and gas welders from a multitude of locations, like Kazakhstan, Karachay-Cherkessia, Bashkortostan, Orenburg, Tyumen, Amur, Tomsk, and Sverdlovsk. The competition comprised two spirited rounds: a knowledge quiz and manual arc welding.
Next up was the Race Royale, a nail-biting driving bonanza that unfolded on the specialized "Perspektiva" driving school platform in Chelyabinsk. The event was a wild ride, inviting participants from Kazakhstan, Republic of Bashkortostan, and various other regions like Magadan, Kirov, Tomsk, Orenburg, Tyumen, Chelyabinsk, and Sverdlovsk. Contestants faced off in two pulse-pounding sections: road rules and driving in extreme situations, slaying opponents with dizzying figures like snakes, hills, spirals, and 90-degree turns.
The final four drivers earned passes to the thrilling finale, culminating in an impromptu additional stage for the top three positions. The adrenaline did not stop there, oh no! The third chapter in our riveting tale was the Turn Tango - a compelling turning competition, which took place on a production platform at the repair and mechanical workshop of the "Sukholozhskoe litiye" plant. Sixteen turners from various regions such as Karachay-Cherkessia, Bashkortostan, and Kirov, Orenburg, Tyumen, and Sverdlovsk unleashed their spinning skills in a battle for the tile.
The Turn Tango was a two-part extravaganza: a test focused on professional activities, device and equipment, technological drawings, safety regulations, and a practical stage where participants tackled the formidable "Hexagon" detail on identical equipment used daily by the turners of "AO Sukholozhskoe litiye."
These competitions are garnering a loyal fanbase and boosting the prestige of blue-collar occupations, as well as acknowledging the hardworking men and women in our country. Skill-based showdowns have been gaining ground, making them the new black in the career and education world.
