UPS accused of misplacing Johnny Marr's guitars by Johnny Marr
Johnny Marr, the iconic guitarist known for his work with The Smiths, is making headlines for a mix of exciting new music and a mysterious incident involving lost guitars.
Marr is set to release a new live album, 'Look Out Live!', tomorrow, September 19. The album, consisting of 22 tracks recorded at the Eventim Apollo last year as part of his 'The Spirit Power Tour', will be a treat for fans.
However, the week leading up to the release has been anything but smooth for Marr. On September 17, he took to Twitter/X to accuse UPS of losing his guitars. The posts, tagging UPS and featuring hashtags such as #fuckUPSinc #freemyguitars, created a stir. UPS has since stated that they will DM Marr in response to his accusations.
The exact nature or value of the guitars lost by UPS was not specified. Marr described one of the missing guitars as saying '80's Icon' on the case, while another was described as 'Woke As Fuck'. The location or destination of the guitars when they were lost was not specified.
In a separate development, Morrissey, Marr's former bandmate in The Smiths, has expressed his intention to sell off all of his business interests in the band. Morrissey encouraged potential investors to email him about this opportunity. However, his email address has been switched off due to a "colossal response".
On a more positive note, two songs performed with Pet Shop Boys' Neil Tennant are included in 'Look Out Live!'. One of these duets is a cover of David Bowie's 'Rebel Rebel', which, along with the other duet, is available to stream.
Johnny Marr is also set to appear on four tracks on the upcoming Gorillaz album 'The Mountain'. With such a busy schedule, it seems that Marr is determined to keep music at the forefront, despite the recent setbacks.
The search for Marr's missing guitars continues, and UPS has promised to get in touch. In the meantime, fans can look forward to the release of 'Look Out Live!' and the exciting collaborations Marr has lined up.
