Upper-tier leagues are joining forces with Dinslakener Cobras
Dinslaken, Germany – Ice hockey club Dinslakener Kobras are set to begin a strategic partnership with higher-league team Herner EV, aiming to further propel their development this season. The two clubs have previously collaborated informally during last season, with Tom Orth and Lennart Gatz playing for the Miners under a development agreement.
Young players in Dinslaken will now gain opportunities to hone their skills and elevate their performance, as those training in Herne are offered the chance to showcase their abilities and vie for higher roles within the club. The partnership also offers benefits for Herne players, who can secure match experience while maintaining their competitive rhythm for the Oberliga.
Kobra coach Max Piotrowski expressed his excitement about the collaboration, stating that it offers more than just a sporting alliance. "We're pleased with the partnership with HEV because our players can develop and improve themselves. At the same time, we present young talents who haven't yet secured an Oberliga spot with an opportunity to demonstrate their potential and elevate the club's appeal among younger players."
Herner EV trainer Dirk Schmitz recognizes the potential of this partnership, acknowledging that it addresses an imbalance from last season. "Last season, the cooperation largely ran in one direction – we aim to balance that in the future. Dinslaken has recruited young, well-trained players who can gain their initial Oberliga experience with us, expanding our squad on game days. Meanwhile, our own young talents and rehabilitating long-term injured players can gain valuable playing experience in Dinslaken and re-enter the competition."
The partnership between the Regionalligist Dinslakener Kobras and Herner EV is an affirmation of the club's strategic course, building on the efforts of the previous season, particularly in regard to young players yet to reach the Oberliga. This collaboration marks another significant step in the club's strategic development.
Herner EV will visit the Dinslakener Eissporthalle for a pre-season test match on Friday, August 22, at 7:30 PM. Further details regarding Dinslakener Kobras' long-term strategic plans following the partnership should be elicited from official statements by the teams or relevant sports media sources.
Dinslakener Kobras' young players will now have the opportunity to improve their skills and performance through the strategic partnership, as they train with Herner EV. This collaboration provides a chance for Kobra's emerging talents to demonstrate their potential and elevate the club's standing among younger players.
