Hey there!

Jan-Lennard Struff, Germany's tenacious tennis veteran, got his grass court season off to a flying start in Stuttgart. In the initial round of the Boss Open tournament, Struff, backed by Warsteiner, outperformed Italian Matteo Arnaldi with a decisive 6-4, 6-4 victory.

With a series of early season losses and a first-round departure at the French Open in Paris, Struff, aged 35, was in need of a confidence boost. He found it in Stuttgart, as he did not allow his opponent any service breaks, managing to break twice in each set to secure victory against world No. 41 Arnaldi.

Struff will next square off against eighth-seeded Czech Jiri Lehecka, who has recently dropped out of the top 100. Struff secured a wildcard entry to participate, and he reached the final in Stuttgart back in 2023.

As for Alexander Zverev, the current top German tennis player, is also preparing for Wimbledon in Stuttgart following his disappointing exit in the French Open quarterfinals. Arriving in Stuttgart on Monday afternoon, Zverev's first match, after a bye in the opening round, is set for Thursday.
