Update on Roman Reigns' break following WrestleMania 41 in WWE news
Looks like Roman Reigns, the dominating force in WWE, is taking some time off after his latest bout at WrestleMania 41. Fans will have to wait a bit longer to catch him in action, as the "Tribal Chief" is currently on a break.
During a chat with WrestleVotes, Joey Votes hinted that Reigns might skip the upcoming Backlash and even Saturday Night's Main Event in May. However, there's a decent chance we'll see him at the Money in the Bank event, which is scheduled for later this year.
"I can't picture him on the Backlash card," said Votes, "But Money in the Bank seems possible. I won’t bet on him at the St. Louis event next weekend though."
Rumors are floating around that Reigns might use this time to set up a thrilling showdown for Money in the Bank. He could return before the event to stir things up or even make a shocking ambush on competitors like CM Punk, Seth Rollins, or Paul Heyman.
The reason for Reigns' growing absence from the ring isn't clear. While it's commonplace for him to take a break after showstopper events like WrestleMania, this time off seems to be a bit shorter. Still, Backlash will likely pass before Reigns makes his comeback at Money in the Bank, set to take place at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
Meanwhile, in the world of WWE news, Alexa Bliss has bagged a major movie role, and former Money in the Bank winner is rumored to play a part in the next Spider-Man flick! Jey Uso has clapped back at Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa, and Montez Ford is thanking a fan for a viral assist involving his prosthetic leg.
Reigns was last seen on RAW after WrestleMania 41 on April 21, 2025. He had a heated confrontation with Seth Rollins, who had pinned him two days earlier, and Paul Heyman after his betrayal at the event. Despite Reigns gaining the upper hand during their altercation, Bron Breakker delivered two consecutive spears to Reigns, sending him through the barricade.
As Reigns sells the attack for over a month, Rollins and his allies continue to run rampant over the RAW roster. They recently took out one of Reigns' allies, Sami Zayn. Although he's currently taking a break, Reigns is expected to make a significant mark during the first-ever two-night SummerSlam event in August.
After two consecutive losses at WrestleMania, Reigns is aiming to bounce back and take the title once again. Last year, he lost to Cody Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania 40, eventually losing the Undisputed WWE Championship after more than 1,300 days of holding it.
- Roman Reigns might forego participation in the upcoming Backlash and Saturday Night's Main Event in May, but there's a possibility he will make an appearance at the Money in the Bank event scheduled for later this year.
- Intrigues surround Roman Reigns' return, as rumors suggest he might return before the Money in the Bank event to stir up some trouble or even mount a surprise attack on competitors like CM Punk, Seth Rollins, or Paul Heyman.
- Fans will have to wait until the Money in the Bank event, set to take place at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, in late 2025, to potentially see Roman Reigns make his comeback after his temporary absence from the ring following WrestleMania 41.
