Update on Express Entry Pool for July 2025: Current Status and Composition

In the month of June 2025, Canada conducted a total of six Express Entry draws, inviting a total of 7,405 candidates to apply for permanent residency. This number, while lower than the totals in February and March, was higher than the combined total of April and May.

The draws in June included candidates from various categories. The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and Healthcare and social services occupations were all represented. The first PNP draw of the month had 277 ITAs and a CRS cut-off score of 726, while the second PNP draw issued 125 ITAs with a CRS cut-off score of 784.

The CEC saw two draws in June. The first CEC draw issued 3,000 ITAs with a CRS cut-off score of 529, and the second CEC draw followed suit with another 3,000 ITAs but with a slightly lower CRS cut-off score of 521.

The healthcare and social services occupations category, which the immigration department announced earlier this year would be a priority for Express Entry, also had its first draw in June. This draw issued 500 ITAs with a CRS cut-off score of 504.

The number of candidate profiles in the Express Entry pool has been on the rise. Since May 13, the pool has seen an increase of 6,672 profiles, bringing the total to 256,754 as of June 22, 2025. The number of candidate profiles in the 601-1200 CRS score range has increased by over 440 since May 13.

The last PNP draw in June had 503 ITAs and a CRS cut-off score of 742. Interestingly, no Express Entry draws were held in June 2025; the nearest draws occurred in September 2025, including three consecutive Express Entry draws from September 2-4 and a Trade-specific draw on September 18, 2025.

The least number of invitations issued in 2025 was in April, with only 1,246 ITAs. However, the number of invitations issued in February 2025 saw a significant increase to 11,601. The highest number of invitations issued in 2025 was in March, with a total of 13,261.

In January 2025, the immigration department issued 5,821 invitations through the Express Entry system. This number has fluctuated throughout the year, reflecting the department's continued commitment to managing immigration levels during the ongoing pandemic.

As the year progresses, it will be interesting to see how the number of invitations issued through the Express Entry system continues to evolve. With the prioritisation of certain occupations and the ongoing PNP draws, it's clear that Canada remains committed to attracting and retaining skilled workers from around the world.
