Stranger Things Season 5: Returning Characters and New Additions
The much-anticipated fifth season of Stranger Things is set to premiere in 2025, continuing the thrilling storyline of the group's mission to defeat the terrifying entity known as Vecna.
The season, set in the fall of 1987, finds the group a year after the events of season 4, with the Rifts opening in Hawkins causing chaos and complications. With the U.S. military becoming involved and hunting Eleven, she is forced into hiding, adding another layer of difficulty to the mission.
The season promises to build towards a final battle against a darkness more powerful and deadly than ever before, uniting the full group for one last time.
Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Brett Gelman, Cara Buono, and Jamie Campbell Bower are all set to return as series regulars.
New additions to the cast include Amybeth McNulty (promoted to main cast after her guest appearance in season 4) and Linda Hamilton.
The season will be released in three parts, with the first part (Volume 1) consisting of 4 episodes and set to be released on November 27, 2025. The second part (Volume 2) will consist of 3 episodes, and the final episode will be released on January 1, 2026.
Brett Gelman will play Murray Bauman, Nell Fisher will play Holly Wheeler, and Linda Hamilton will play Dr. Kay in the upcoming season. Jake Connelly will play Derek, Alex Breaux will play Lt. Akers, and Amybeth McNulty will play Vickie.
