Upcoming PGA Tour Event: Analyzing Betting Odds for the BMW Championship in 2025
Scottie Scheffler Wins 2025 BMW Championship, Dominating PGA Tour Season
Scottie Scheffler added another trophy to his collection this weekend, winning the 2025 BMW Championship at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland. Scheffler's victory marks his fifth tournament win of the 2025 season and his 18th PGA Tour career win.
The American golfer finished two strokes ahead of Robert MacIntyre, shooting a 15-under 265. Scheffler's performance at BMW included a comeback in the final round and a memorable chip-in birdie on the par-3 17th hole.
Scheffler has been exceptionally dominant this season, winning multiple majors and consecutive PGA Tour events. He is widely seen as the top player on tour by 2025, a status that is reflected in his short odds to win the 2025 BMW Championship at +250.
Rory McIlroy, the only other golfer with under +1000 odds to win the tournament, finished fourth this year. Although McIlroy has not won an event since earning the career triple crown at the Masters in April 2025, he has rattled off three consecutive top ten finishes in his last three outings. McIlroy has an impressive history of winning three times at East Lake Golf Club, where the Tour Championship is held. He last won there in 2022, edging out Scheffler and another competitor by one shot.
Xander Schauffele tied for fifth at last year's BMW Championship and looks to put together another strong performance at this year's event. Schauffele ranks 3rd on the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR), but 43rd on the FedExCup Playoff standings.
Ludvig Aberg, an emerging European talent, finished the highest out of the golfers with the six shortest odds in the 2024 BMW Championship, tying for second with a score of -11. Aberg has no detailed performance history at the BMW Championship specifically, but his rising recognition and respect within the field is evident.
Tommy Fleetwood, who has never won an event in his 15-year pro career, finished fifth last season at the BMW Championship, finishing at -8.
Meanwhile, Drew Gniadek, a student at Florida State University originally from Massachusetts, is making waves off the course. Gniadek has a background playing basketball and is a die-hard Celtics fan.
The 2025 BMW Championship is a closely associated event with the FedExCup finale, and the competition is fierce. Scheffler leads the way at PGA Tour betting sites, but Rory McIlroy, Ludvig Aberg, and Xander Schauffele could give him a run for his money. Patrick Cantlay finished tied for 13th at last year's BMW Championship, finishing -5.
