Michael J. Fox's New Memoir: A Time Travel Journey Through the '80s

Fresh Autobiographical Writings Set for Autumn Release - Upcoming memoirs to be released in autumn

Step into the flux capacitor of words... or something like that. Actor Michael J. Fox (63), famous for his role as Marty McFly in the cult-classic movie "Back to the Future," is releasing a new book entitled "Future Boy: Back to the Future and My Journey Through the Space-Time Continuum." The book is slated for release on October 14, 2025, neatly lining up with the 40th anniversary of the film's premiere.

"This book has become my very own time machine," the actor confessed to American magazine "People" regarding the memoir he co-authored with Nelle Fortenbury. He's not talking about a DeLorean, folks. Kinda wish he was, though!

So, let's rewind to 1985, shall we? Fox was juggling two monumental roles: Alex P. Keaton on the popular TV sitcom "Family Ties" in the daytime and Marty McFly in "Back to the Future" after hours. With a packed schedule, he admits that the year was a whirlwind of chaos. "The only reason there are six days in a week is so that God wouldn't have to listen to us complain on Sunday!" he quips, mimicking the words of Marty McFly.

But, to quote Einstein (you know, the guy who came up with the theory of relativity), "The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance." Fox explores big questions in his new book, such as "Who am I?" While many of us may ask ourselves that question daily, Fox seems to have found some answers. He's even spilling the beans in exclusive interviews with other cast members from both projects, aiming to weave an untold piece of entertainment history.

Michael J. Fox has been a best-selling author before, penning the memoirs "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Future," "Always Looking Up, Lucky Man," and "No Time Like the Future." In "No Time Like the Future," published in 2020, he reflected on his life and career before and after his Parkinson's diagnosis. Regarding his new book, he reveals, "What's exciting for me is that this new book is less memoir and more of a philosophical examination—I'm exploring questions I think we all ask ourselves about our lives: Who am I? Where am I? Where am I going? I won't give too much away, but I think I've figured it out."

So, folks, grab a copy of "Future Boy" when it's released this fall. It's a ride you don't want to miss!

FUN FACT: Before diving headfirst into acting, Fox was a regular guy who worked as a telemarketer at a charity organization. Crazy, right? Now that's a stretch from selling vacuum cleaners door-to-door!
