Take a Trip Back with Michael J. Fox: New Memoirs in October
Fresh Autobiographies Arrive in Autumn - Upcoming memoirs set for release in autumn
Gear up for a trip down memory lane - not with a temporal device, but with the power of words. Michael J. Fox (63), legendary star of "Back to the Future", is set to unveil his fresh memoir, "Future Boy: Back to the Future and My Journey Through the Space-Time Continuum". This literary time capsule will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the iconic film that catapulted him into global stardom.
"This book has served as my personal time machine," Fox shared in a chat with American mag "People". Penned in collaboration with Nelle Fortenberry, the memoir promises a thrilling ride. The publishing giant Flatiron Books announced the book's release date via its Instagram account: October 14.
"Future Boy" focuses primarily on the rollercoaster year of 1985, a period when Fox balanced his iconic roles as Marty McFly in "Back to the Future" and Alex P. Keaton in the popular NBC sitcom, "Family Ties". The book recounts the chaos that ensued as he tackled two cult roles, simultaneously. "Time, as we know it, exists only because things don't happen all at once," Fox chuckles, quoting some Einstein. "Even the great man himself might've struggled to comprehend the headspinning whirlwind of my life in the first months of 1985. All I can say is, it was busy!"
Delving into life's big questions, Fox takes readers on a personal journey of introspection. "Who am I? I think I've got it figured out," he states with confidence. The book will include anecdotes from cast members of both projects, providing a unique insight into entertainment history yet untold[4].
"This book has acted as my personal time machine, inviting anyone interested in joining the ride," Michael J. Fox encourages.
Fifth Time's the Charm
Diagnosed with Parkinson's in 1991, Michael J. Fox is also the highly esteemed author of the memoirs, "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Future," "Always Looking Up, Lucky Man," and "No Time Like the Future."
In "No Time Like the Future", published in 2020, Fox reflected on his film career and his life after his Parkinson's diagnosis at the age of 29. About the new book, Fox says, "What excites me about the new book is that it's less memoir and more perspective. I'm asking questions that I believe we all ponder about our lives: Who am I? Where am I? Where am I going? I don't want to give away too much, but I believe I've cracked the code."
