Upcoming Mayor Election Scheduled for September 28th
Bergisch Gladbach, Germany – The city is gearing up for a runoff election on Sunday, September 28, 2025, to elect its new mayor. The candidates are Alexander Felsch (CDU) and Marcel Kreutz (SPD).
In preparation for the election, the city is looking for volunteers to help with the voting process. Interested parties can sign up at [email protected] or by calling 02202 / 14 2414.
Voting will take place based on the same voter registry as the main election. However, it's important to note that third parties may not be entrusted with the vote, as it is a personal vote.
For those who have already requested absentee voting for the runoff election, it's crucial to remember that you cannot vote directly unless you did not check the box for receiving the materials for the runoff election when requesting absentee voting for September 14. If you haven't checked the box, you can go to your respective polling or absentee voting office with your ID card to cast your vote.
Voting materials will be automatically sent by mail if you have checked the box. If you're unsure about your status, contact the voting office at 02202 / 14 2888 or email [email protected].
The polling office for the runoff election will be open from Monday, September 22, to Friday, September 26, from 10:00 to 18:00. The office will close on the Friday before the election at 15:00.
For travelers who cannot go to the voting office beforehand and the absentee voting materials do not reach them in time before departure, the election office cannot search for individual voters.
New voter notifications will not be sent for the runoff election. Therefore, it's crucial to ensure your voter registration is up-to-date.
The polling office will be the same as the one used during the main election. Remember to bring your ID card or voter's certificate to vote.
