Upcoming Match Schedule for Springboks in 2025

Springboks to compete in fifteen electrifying international encounters, featuring opponents like the Barbarians and Rugby Championship competitors, during the year 2025.

Upcoming Match Schedule for Springboks in 2025

Get ready, rugby fans! The Springboks' 2025 schedule is shaping up to be a cracker, chock-full of international matches. The Boks are currently sitting atop the world rankings, nipping at the heels of New Zealand.

This year, the Springboks are gearing up for a whopping 15 matches, making it their second-busiest year to date. Last year, the Amabhokobhoko brought home the Rugby Championship trophy and didn't lose a single match on their European tour, dropping only two games against Ireland and Argentina.

The Springboks' first match of the year will be against the Barbarians on the 28th of June. The venue for this exciting contest is yet to be determined. The last time these two teams met was in 2017, ending in a nail-biting draw. The Barbarians field players from around the globe, selected for their exceptional on-field performance, off-field prowess, and availability. Eddie Jones, the Australian coach, guides the team. The British and Irish Lions, another invitational team, will also be on tour this year, squaring off against Argentina and Australia.

Kicking Off the Season

The Springboks will host Italy for two matches in June, starting at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on the 5th of July. The teams then relocate to Gqeberha for their second battle at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on the 12th of July.

The Springboks last played at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in 2021, during a previous Springbok tournament cycle. The Bokke will also play another test match in June against Georgia, taking place on the 19th of June at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.

The 2025 Rugby Championship

The Rugby Championship is the premier tournament on the Springboks' agenda this year. Coach Rassie Erasmus will be gunning for a perfect season, having won both matches against the All Blacks and Wallabies but falling short against Argentina by a single point last season.

South Africa hosts Australia for the first leg of the Championship, with the action unfolding at Ellis Park in Johannesburg on the 16th of August. The teams then move to Cape Town for the start of the second match, taking place at the DHL Stadium on the 23rd of August.

The team will then travel to New Zealand for two matches against the All Blacks, the first taking place at Eden Park in Auckland, followed by the second at Sky Stadium in Wellington, on the 6th and 13th of September, respectively. The Bokke emerged victorious in their last two encounters.

The final two matches of the Rugby Championship for South Africa are against Argentina, with the Pumas visiting Kings Park in Durban on the 27th of September. The closing match of the Rugby Championship will take place in London at Twickenham on the 4th of October.

November Tour (Details Pending)

The Boks will compete in the remaining four matches of the year, taking place in Europe, but the specifics, such as opponents and venues, have yet to be announced.
