Upcoming Local Elections in 2025

In my youth, dear Schmachtendorf served as my homebase – the locale where I attended kindergarten, school, and received training. It was the beating heart of my life. However, at the age of 22, I found myself leaving you behind – bound for the vibrant city of Berlin.

Upcoming Local Elections in 2025

In the heart of Oberhausen, a Social Democrat named Kevin Schanz is gearing up for a bid to represent Schmachtendorf-West in the city council of Oberhausen and the district council of Sterkrade. Schmachtendorf-West, the part of Schmachtendorf that stretches from the market square to the border with Dinslaken, is where Schanz grew up and cherishes fond memories.

Schanz, who moved away from Schmachtendorf at the age of 22 to study in Berlin, returned several years ago with a renewed love for his hometown. He plans to channel this passion into action by running for Schmachtendorf-West on September 14th for the SPD.

Affordable housing and the condition of roads and construction sites are among the issues that Schanz aims to address. He believes that leisure activities for young and old in Schmachtendorf could be more extensive, and he is determined to work towards this goal.

Schanz's campaign is focused on his neighbours in Schmachtendorf-West. He is not a fan of social media and instead prefers to engage with the community directly. Every Thursday, he can be found distributing SPD promotional materials on the Schmachtendorf market square.

To reach voters in a small town like Schmachtendorf, Schanz employs a mix of personal and community-based strategies. He attends local meetings, volunteers for community events, and hosts town hall meetings to engage with voters and discuss local issues. He also leaves personalized notes for residents when he's not able to meet them in person.

Schanz has also reached out to the local press and media, giving interviews and contributing to community newsletters. He collaborates with local organizations, such as Rotary Clubs and churches, and supports local businesses. He even went as far as printing a postcard with photos of Schmachtendorf and personally delivering it to every mailbox in the constituency.

Representing Schmachtendorf would be a great honour and joy for Schanz. He is aware that he is not the only candidate running for Schmachtendorf-West this year, with a young CDU candidate and the top candidate of the Greens also vying for the position. However, Schanz is confident and determined, promising to give his all to achieve this goal.

In a fair competition with all parties, Schanz declares his love for Schmachtendorf and anticipates a vibrant exchange of ideas during the campaign. He is committed to listening to the concerns of the community and working tirelessly to improve the quality of life for the residents of Schmachtendorf-West.

Politics and general news in Schmachtendorf-West are revolving around the upcoming city and district council elections. One of the key candidates, Kevin Schanz, a local Social Democrat from Schmachtendorf, is vigorously campaigning for the SPD, promising to address issues like affordable housing, road conditions, and expanding leisure activities for both young and old residents. His strategies for reaching voters include attending local meetings, collaborating with community organizations, and engaging directly with residents, often without the use of social media. Amidst a field of competing candidates, Schanz remains optimistic and committed to improved life quality for the residents of Schmachtendorf-West.
