Upcoming Local Elections 2025: Contenders from "The Party"

"Die Partei" is set to make a return to the Voerde city council in the upcoming municipal election on September 14, 2025. The political party, which gained faction status for the first time in the 2020 municipal election, entered the city council with two representatives that year.

In the 2025 election, "Die Partei" is running for the second time, with Jule Schmidt nominated as their candidate for the position of mayor. The party achieved faction status in the 2020 election, securing 5.49 percent of the votes cast.

The municipal election in Voerde will see a total of seven candidates on the reserve list for "Die Partei", with Daniel Zielinski, the current faction leader, at the top. The order of the remaining candidates is as follows: Ralf Knappe, Christine Holland, Nico Timm, Lorena Kowalczyk, and Thomas Hebel.

Jule Schmidt, the second-place candidate on the reserve list, will follow after Daniel Zielinski should he be unable to serve. However, there is currently no publicly accessible information available about Schmidt's political involvement or candidacy in the Voerde municipal elections.

In addition to Schmidt, three other candidates are running for the position of mayor in Voerde on September 14, 2025. They are Dirk Haarmann (SPD), Martin Scholz (independent, nominated by the CDU and FDP), and an unspecified candidate from the Left party, who did not participate in the 2025 election.

"Wir Voerder", previously known as "Wählergemeinschaft Voerde", came in sixth behind "Die Partei" in the 2025 municipal election, while "Die Partei" entered the city council with two representatives in 2020. The exact number of seats each party will secure in the 2025 election remains to be seen.

As the election day approaches, residents of Voerde will have the opportunity to cast their votes and determine the composition of the city council for the next term. The results of the election are expected to shape the future direction of Voerde and its governance.

Die Partei's candidacy in the Voerde municipal election on September 14, 2025, is not limited to the mayoral position, as they have seven candidates on their reserve list for policy-and-legislation and general-news related positions in the city council. Jule Schmidt, a candidate whose political involvement or candidacy information is not publicly accessible, is one of the seven candidates on the reserve list.
