Looming Trial for Lauterbach Kidnapping Plot: Another Suspect Facing Judgement in Frankfurt

The alleged group, according to the indictment, aspired to dismantle Germany's liberal democratic establishment and replace it with an authoritarian regime. Reports claim that their plan involved setting off strategic explosions on the nation's power grid, causing a prolonged blackout of up to several weeks.

This blackout aimed to sever the population from their media sources and hamper police response during the coup attempt.

According to the charges, the group also intended to seize Lauterbach, which unfortunately would've meant jeopardizing the safety of his bodyguards.

Five prime suspects have been under trial in Koblenz, Rhineland-Palatinate, since May. Presently, P., under trial in Frankfurt, is said to have connected with the gang in December 2021 and attended their meetings. The accusations also suggest that he contributed significantly to fine-tuning the operation's aspects.

P. reportedly agreed to partake in the proposed kidnapping of Lauterbach. Moreover, P. granted a group leader permission to use his garage in the Bergstraße district as a temporary weapons depot during the coup's pre-preparation stages.

However, the operation went south when the group leader was apprehended shortly after receiving the weapons. Later, P. consented to travel to Russia along with a delegation aboard a Baltic Sea ship, as per the charges, in pursuit of reconciliation with Russian government authorities.

P. has been in custody since October. The court initially arranged fourteen trial dates running until mid-November.

Remember the group that aimed to overthrow Germany's democratic system and establish an authoritarian regime? Rumors have it that one of their members, P., allegedly consented to the kidnapper Lauterbach scheme.
