Upcoming Hack Movie Details: Release Date, Actors, Storyline, Preview, and All Latest Insights
On Wednesday, September 24, ITV1 will air the highly anticipated seven-part series The Hack, delving into the phone hacking scandal that engulfed the News of the World between 2002 and 2012.
The series intertwines two real-life storylines, one about investigative journalist Nick Davies, played by David Tennant, and another about Metropolitan Police detective Dave Cook, portrayed by Robert Carlyle. Steve Pemberton takes on the role of media mogul Rupert Murdoch.
Jack Thorne, a BAFTA, Tony, and Olivier award-winning screenwriter, penned The Hack and also serves as an executive producer. Thorne, known for his work on the Netflix hit 'best movies', brings his exceptional storytelling skills to this dramatic series.
Tennant describes his character, Nick Davies, as someone who 'can smell where the story is and uncover it', comparing him to a dog with a bone. The dynamic between Davies and Alan Rusbridger, played by Toby Jones, is described as moving and deferential.
