Upcoming Election for the Mayor on the 28th of September

The runoff election for the Mayor of Bergisch Gladbach is fast approaching, taking place on September 28, 2025. Two candidates are vying for the position: Alexander Felsch (CDU) and Marcel Kreutz (SPD).

For those who have already requested mail-in voting for the runoff election, your materials will be automatically sent to you. However, if you did not check the box for receiving the materials, you can vote at the voting office. Remember, your ID card or voting certificate will be required to cast your vote.

It's worth noting that voting for the runoff election will be based on the same voter registry as the main election. Voting will take place at the voting office, which will be open from Monday, September 22, to 18:00 daily. The voting office will close on the Friday before the election at 15:00.

Interestingly, third parties are not allowed to handle votes in the runoff election. This ensures the integrity and security of the voting process.

The city is seeking volunteers for the runoff election on September 28, 2025. If you're interested, you can register as a volunteer at [email protected] or by calling 02202 / 14 2414. Volunteers will be needed primarily on Sunday, September 28, 2025, the day of the mayoral runoff election. Their tasks will include working in two shifts on election day and helping with counting the votes starting at 6 PM.

One important thing to note is that new voting notifications will not be sent for the runoff election. So, if you have already requested mail-in voting for the main election, you do not need to request it again for the runoff election.

As the election date approaches, stay informed and make sure your voice is heard in the democratic process. Voting is a fundamental right, and your participation matters. We look forward to seeing you at the polls!
