Upcoming Dramas on BBC, ITV, C4, 5, Sky, and Streaming Services in Autumn 2025: A Roundup of Must-Watch Shows

The much-anticipated Autumn 2025 TV season is upon us, and the major networks have unveiled their lineups. From September through November, viewers can look forward to a diverse range of new and returning shows across CBS, ABC, NBC, Apple TV+, and other channels.

CBS will commence its fall premiere week on October 12, with early September premieres for Survivor and The Amazing Race. Shows like Matlock and Elsbeth will kick off the Thursday night lineup, with new seasons of NCIS and universe expansions premiering that October week.

ABC, on the other hand, launches its fall schedule on Tuesday, September 16, starting with Dancing With the Stars Season 34 and High Potential Season 2. The Golden Bachelor Season 2 premieres with a special two-hour episode on September 24, followed by 9-1-1 and Grey’s Anatomy returning on October 9 alongside 9-1-1: Nashville. Other returning shows such as Abbott Elementary and Shark Tank return between late September and early October.

NBC announces On Brand With Jimmy Fallon premiering on Tuesday, September 30. Other returning series like The Voice, Chicago Fire, and Law & Order: SVU are also part of its fall lineup, generally from late September into October and November. For example, St. Denis Medical Season 2 premieres November 3, and Happy’s Place Season 2 premieres November 7.

Apple TV+ will premiere the critically acclaimed Slow Horses Season 5 on September 24, with weekly episodes following that date.

Beyond these major networks, there are several noteworthy shows premiering on various channels. For instance, "The Forsytes," a six-part period drama, is based on the classic Forsyte Saga novels by John Galsworthy. "Riot Women" stars a talented ensemble cast, including Lorraine Ashbourne, Joanna Scanlan, Amelia Bullmore, Rosalie Craig, Tamsin Greig, Anne Reid, and Sue Johnston.

"The Thursday Murder Club" is a movie adaptation of Richard Osman's 2020 novel, starring Dame Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Sir Ben Kingsley, and Celia Imrie. The story follows a group of pensioners-turned-amateur sleuths who become embroiled in a real whodunnit.

"The Death of Bunny Munro," a drama based on Nick Cave's book, stars Matt Smith and Rafael Mathé. The story follows a father and son on a road trip across southern England.

Other intriguing shows include "Murder Before Evensong," a six-part whodunnit series, "Atomic," an intense five-part thriller, "Down Cemetery Road," an eight-episode thriller, "Cold Water," a six-part thriller, "Trespasses," a four-parter set in 1975 Northern Ireland, and "King & Conqueror," an epic eight-part period drama.

The Autumn TV season 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting time for television enthusiasts, with a plethora of new and returning shows to keep viewers entertained for the coming months.
