FC Augsburg Unveils Stunning Roman-Inspired Third Kit for 2025/26 Season
The football world is abuzz with excitement as FC Augsburg unveils its new third kit for the 2025/26 season. This stylish black and gold design, inspired by the Roman roots of the city of Augsburg, promises to be a standout addition to the Bundesliga.
The kit features gold detailing on the FCA and Mizuno badges, sleeve cuffs, and collar, imparting a luxurious and imperial feel. The back of the shirt displays 'MCMVII' in bold gold Roman numerals, marking the club's founding year, 1907, with player names and numbers rendered in a Roman-style font inspired by local Roman ruins. The overall pattern throughout the black fabric draws from artifacts of Roman antiquity still visible in Augsburg combined with elements of the club’s logo, evoking historic imperial armor.
Speaking about the kit, FC Augsburg's CEO Michael Ströll described it as an elegant representation of the city’s Roman heritage, calling it a "relic worth remembering." It follows the very positive reception of last year's similar "Roman" kit and continues the storytelling connection between the club's modern identity and its ancient origins under the Roman name "Augusta Vindelicum."
The black and gold kit will be worn in pre-season matches starting August 2025. It will be available for men in sizes S to 4XL and for women as Female Fit in XS to XL. Each jersey with player names or individual lettering has numbers in the Roman style with a matte-gloss effect. The long-sleeved version of the jersey is available in sizes S to 3XL and costs 99.95 euros.
The jersey will be available online, in FCA fanshops, and at the VR bank in Annastraße from August 8th at 9 am. The price for the jersey is 89.95 euros for adults and 69.95 euros for children. The jersey has the founding year 1907 in Roman numerals and a pre-printed "FC Augsburg" lettering on the back.
The design of the jersey is inspired by Roman Antiquity, with elements such as crest and acorn. The location of the jersey shooting is significant, as it is where Roman artifacts were found during stadium construction. The jersey features a fully embossed front and back and has a black base with gold accents.
This makes it a striking fusion of football heritage, Roman history, and archaeological artistry, designed to stand out visually and culturally among Bundesliga kits. FC Augsburg's new third kit is not just a piece of clothing but a testament to the city's rich history and the club's deep roots in Roman antiquity.
The new third kit for FC Augsburg's 2025/26 season, inspired by Roman Antiquity, will also feature elements of sports like football, as it is designed to stand out on the field. The black and gold design, evident in the long-sleeved jersey, carries influences from Roman artifacts found during stadium construction, symbolizing the club's deep connections to its historical roots.
