Upcoming Archie Comics Film: Phil Lord and Chris Miller, Behind the Scenes of 'Spider-Verse'
Universal Pictures is set to bring the beloved Archie Comics characters to the big screen once again, with a new live-action movie in development. The news was first broken by TheInSneider.
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the duo behind hit films like "The Lego Movie" and "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse", are producing the project. They are joined by Emma Watts and Archie Comics publisher Jon Goldwater.
Britt Hennemuth and Christine Sun will oversee the film, but plot details have yet to be confirmed. Tom King is writing the screenplay, ensuring a compelling narrative for this latest adaptation.
Lord and Miller are also busy with other projects. They are currently working on "Project Hail Mary", scheduled for release in theaters in March 2026, and are producing and writing the third "Spider-Verse" film, "Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse", set for June 2027.
The film is being developed under a first-look deal with Universal Pictures and is planned as an event movie for various audiences.
