Düsseldorf Jazz Festival Adapts Amidst Cancellation: Band Aid Jazz Rally & Friends Delights Audience

This alternative festival was born out of the cancellation of the 28th Schauinsland-reisen Jazz Rally, a much-anticipated event in the city's cultural calendar.

Thomas Geisel, a prominent figure in Düsseldorf, spoke at the event, expressing his anticipation for the start of the Jazz Rally over the Pentecost weekend. Despite the cancellation, he was thrilled about the Band Aid Jazz Rally & Friends, which aimed to bring the spirit of jazz to the city.

Boris Neisser, the driving force behind Destination Düsseldorf, was the mastermind behind the Band Aid Jazz Rally & Friends. The event took place at the Autokino in Düsseldorf, where live performances by renowned artists were featured. The special gift presented to Boris Neisser was an engraved Plexiglas bike lock for the "Band Aid Jazz Rally & friends" project.

The concert film from the Classic Remise Düsseldorf was a highlight of the event, reaching over 20,000 viewers. The premiere of the film was on May 30th on the YouTube and Facebook channels of the Jazz Rally.
