In the heart of Atlanta, just down the street from CNN, resides Brandon Gaudin, the play-by-play voice of Major League Baseball's Atlanta Braves and the iconic Madden NFL video game franchise.

Gaudin's love for sports commentary began in his childhood, growing up playing the Madden NFL video game. Little did he know that one day, his voice would be synonymous with the franchise, recognised by rideshare drivers by voice alone.

His journey started with studying broadcasting at Butler University in Indianapolis, where he called games for the school's sports teams. After graduation, Gaudin worked his way through the broadcasting ranks, starting at the single-A Orem Owlz in Utah, and moving to the city of Atlanta in 2013 as the football and basketball voice for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

The Braves, with their expansive radio network reaching across the entire region, played a significant role in building one of the biggest fanbases in the sport. It was through watching the Braves on Turner's TBS network that Gaudin developed his passion for broadcasting.

However, Gaudin was not a kid who grew up listening to the Braves in the southeast. He developed his love for the team through cable television. When the opportunity to join the Braves arose in 2023, Gaudin jumped at the chance, becoming the voice of the team he had grown to admire.

Gaudin's partnership with EA Sports began in 2016, but the journey started in 2015 when he was approached for a potential opportunity. Initially, he thought it was a practical joke or spam. But after a successful audition, he was offered the job to replace Jim Nantz as the voice of Madden NFL.

Brandon Gaudin's partnership with Madden NFL has been fruitful, with the video game franchise consistently earning over half a billion dollars annually. His play calls are heard around the globe, making him a household name in the gaming community.

Before his foray into the world of professional sports, Gaudin worked as a sportscaster for collegiate sports, including calling games for Indiana University and covering various college football and basketball events.

The Braves were the only big league team in the southeast until MLB expansion brought baseball to Florida in the 1990s. This expansion did not deter Gaudin's love for the team, and he continues to be a dedicated member of the Braves' family.

Despite the stiff competition in the Madden NFL audition, Gaudin's passion, dedication, and unique style secured him the coveted role. He signed a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) during the audition process, adding an extra layer of mystery to his journey.

From the southeast to the global stage, Brandon Gaudin's story is a testament to the power of passion, dedication, and hard work. His voice, whether it's calling the Braves' home runs or the Madden NFL's touchdowns, continues to inspire and entertain millions.
