For today's Wordle, I started with the word SHIRE. This was a decent guess, leaving me with only 18 possible solutions. With all of them ending in -RI-E, it was tough to decide on my next guess. I considered going for TRIPE, but instead opted for BEPAT, combining what I thought were the three most common remaining consonants: B, P, and T. I was so close to guessing it in two!
Competitive Scoring
The Bot and I both earned a score of 2 points today: 1 point for guessing in three, 0 points for tying, and multiplying for 2XP Friday, giving us:
Erik: 11 points
Wordle Bot: 5 points

Today's Wordle Origin
The term tripe stems from Old French tripe, meaning "guts" or "entrails." This word ventured into English in the 14th century and initially referred to the edible lining of a cow's stomach. In the early 18th century, tripe took on a slang meaning for "nonsense."
