Unveiling Macabre Truths: First-Person Horror Game 'Dead Take' Reveals Alleged Hidden Scandals of the Entertainment Industry: "Expect to be shocked as players delve into industry's unsavory revelations".

Strap in, Gamers! Surgent Studios, the brains behind the hit game Tales of Kenzera: Zau, just dropped a bombshell with their latest project—and it ain't what we anticipated. Introducing Dead Take, a spine-chilling, first-person psychological horror game that promises to rip the glossy veil off the entertainment industry and reveal its unsavory underbelly.

In Dead Take, you step into the shoes of an ambitious actor on a mission to find your missing friend, last seen in a swanky, eerily silent mansion (now hosting an eerie silence where a flashy party once roared). As you navigate the mansion-to-theater journey, you'll solve object-based puzzles and splice together cryptic video clips to uncover the horrifying secrets hidden within these once-polished walls.

This chilling tale shares some echoes of The 7 Guest, but Dead Take's grittier promises of "a harrowing, solo journey into depravity that draws from real-life experiences in the entertainment industry" could deliver a gorier trip down the rabbit hole.

The Steam page teases a tantalizing glimpse of the industry's shadowy side—full of manipulation, gossip, broken dreams, unsettling audition tapes, and powerful puppeteers who can make or break careers with a single whisper.

Travel through opulent, handcrafted 3D rooms adorned with movie set-inspired gadgets and props, accompanied by composer Ross Tregenza's blood-curdling original score. Tregenza's impressive resume includes credits for popular games such as Wolfenstein: Youngblood, Cyberpunk 2077, Deathloop, Helldivers 2, and Deathsprint 66, so the musical chills should be top-notch.

Surgent Studios promises an "impressive cast" for Dead Take, with the lineup due to be revealed in the near future.

Creeping in the Shadows

Surgent Studios founder Abubakar Salim hinted at the sensitive nature of Dead Take's subject matter. Salim mentioned, "The subject matter of this game is delicate, and it hits close to home. When it comes out, and it won't be too long, I want players to think, 'I can't believe they actually did this'."

Dead Take was first unveiled under a different name as the inaugural project for PocketPair's new publishing arm back in January. Salim described Dead Take as "short, weird, and interesting" and hinted at its mysterious connection to Tales of Kenzera.

Dead Take is slated for release later in 2025, and you can add it to your wishlist now on Steam.

Stay spooky, gamers.
