Unveiling Hidden Treasures in Doom: The Dark Ages of Hebeth - A Guide to Secrets and Collectibles

Groovy Guide to Scoring Big in Doom: The Dark Ages - Hebeth Mission

Hop aboard the chaotic ride through a sprawling weapons facility with the second mission of Doom: The Dark Ages. Packed with heaps of secrets and collectibles, you're also introduced to gold bars and Demonic Essence—valuable upgrade currencies you won't want to miss.

I've scoured through the entire map to uncover all the secrets in Hebeth, the second mission, so you don't have to. Below is a collection of all secrets and collectibles laid out in chronological order, saving you the tedious task of replaying the mission from the very beginning.

Hidden Treasures in Hebeth

There are nine secrets and three collectibles to discover in Doom: The Dark Ages' second mission, Hebeth, alongside a hoard of 210 gold for glorious upgrades, and your first taste of Demonic Essence from the final boss.

Secret #1: Life Sigil

Dive right into the mission. Pick up the shield saw attachment and progress along the wall until you reach the first building. Clear the room of enemies, and you'll find the Life Sigil between the glass shelves with a simple brash of the shield[1][4][5].

Collectible #2: Imp Stalker Toy

Straight after the Life Sigil, loop back into the main room and climb the stairs. Pivot around and spot a hidden vent in the wall that you can crawl into. This dumpster dive will net you the Imp Stalker Toy tucked away behind a locked gate[4][5].

Collectible #3: Hebeth Codex

Following the Imp Stalker Toy, press on with the mission and walk up the stairs, pull the switch, and cross the little bridge where you'll be ambushed. Dive into the pit and snap to the left of the hall to sneak through a tight gap between some large crates. The Codex entry awaits you, surrounded by quivering NPCs[1][5].

Secret #4: Gold Bars x5

Secure the Sentinel Shrine on your left, then take a right and find a red barrier blocking a doorway. Pull out your jet boots and run, jump, and climb the wall next to the barrier to find a stash of five shiny gold bars[4][5].

Secret #5: Gold Bars x5

On your way to bag the blue keycard to open the main path, when you head into the tunnels behind the cracked wall, give the dinky barricade on your left a good brash with the shield before venturing into the adjacent area. Five more golden goodies await inside[4][5].

Secret #6: Life Sigil

Press on through the mission and nab the Plasma Accelerator weapon. Slaughter the nearby foes for a breather, then retrace your steps to the Accelerator station. Burst through a nearby vent on your left by using the trusty shield to reveal the Life Sigil and five more sweet gold bars[1][4][5].

Secret #7: Life Sigil

Not long after departing the second facility, you'll be swept up in a tumult of concrete arenas. In one of these arenas, you'll spot a door ablaze and a pair of titans squaring off just beyond. To put out the flames and open the door:

  1. Walk past the door towards the titans fighting and ascend the central concrete pedestal.
  2. Throw your shield at the nearby barricade.
  3. Jump into the room.
  4. Activate the valve near the exit to extinguish the flames.
  5. Revel in the Life Sigil and gold bars you'll discover inside.

Secret #8: Gold Bars x1

Just after subduing the fire and opening the door, stride into the next combat zone. To your left, you'll spot a sizable chest piled high with gold waiting to be snatched up[4][5].

Secret #9: Gold Chest

When you unlock the second Sentinel Shrine, you may notice a gleaming gold chest perched above you. Climbing this ladder will take longer than you'd expect. Fear not! All you have to do is amble up the fleshy tunnel directly right of the Shrine. Although it's easy to overlook, the golden treasure at the end is impossible to miss[4][5].

Collectible #10: Nightmare Shredder Skin

From the second Sentinel Shrine, ascend the stairs and take a left to discover a heap of boxes tucked away beneath a vent. Pop into the vent and drop down on the other side to find the Nightmare Shredder Skin. But beware! A host of enemies will pour in once you claim your prize[1][4][5].
