Double Letter in Wordle today?

No, there's no double letter today in the puzzle.

Beating Wordle Every Day

A powerful starting word can make or break the game, but once you've mastered the basics, it's a cinch to conquer those Wordle victories. And what feels better than a small victory to kickstart your day? Here are a few tips to get you started:

  • A strong starting guess should contain a mix of diverse consonants and vowels.
  • Limit the pool of letters quickly by selecting a strategic second guess.
  • Be cautious of letters that appear more than once in the solution.

Wordle doesn't discriminate against a relaxed playing style. Approach it the way you would a leisurely newspaper crossword, coming back to it if you're stuck. Sometimes a break can make the difference between a win and a line of empty squares.

Learn More about Wordle

Each day brings you a grid of six rows with five boxes each, and your task is to figure out the secret five-letter word hiding inside.

Starting off strong is the key to victory. Try starting with a word like "Arise" or any other word with a good blend of common consonants and multiple vowels. Avoid starting words with repeating letters because you're losing out on the chance to potentially eliminate or confirm an extra letter. After you hit Enter, see which ones you've got right or wrong. If a box turns black, it means that letter isn't in the secret word at all. 🟨 indicates the letter is in the word, but not in that position. 🟩 means you've nailed the right letter in the right spot.

Your second guess should complement the starting word, using another "good" word to cover any common letters you missed last time, while also trying to avoid any letter you now know for sure isn't present in today's answer. With luck, you'll have some colored squares to guide you on the right path.

After that, it's just a matter of using what you've learned to narrow down your guesses to the right word. You have six tries to do it, and you can only use actual words (no filling the boxes with EEEEE, etc.). Don't forget that letters can repeat (e.g., BOOKS).

Originally, Wordle was invented by software engineer Josh Wardle for his partner who was a word game enthusiast. It quickly spread to his family and, eventually, to the public. Since then, the word puzzle game has inspired numerous other games, reimagining the daily challenge around music, math, or geography[3]. It wasn't long before Wordle became so popular that it was purchased by The New York Times for a substantial sum[1]. It certainly won't be surprising when we all begin communicating solely through tricolor boxes.
