Unveiled Lineup for Suspect: The Killing of Jean Charles de Menezes on Disney+

Disney+ has revealed the cast for its upcoming four-part UK Original drama, Suspect: The Shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes. The series, set to premiere on April 30th, is produced by Etta Pictures and KDJ Productions and directed by Paul Andrew Williams.

The series takes place during a large-scale counter terrorism operation in London, following the devastating suicide bomb attacks of July 7th 2005. It focuses on the tragic killing of an innocent Brazilian, Jean Charles de Menezes, who was mistaken for a terrorist.

Newcomer Edison Alcaide plays Charles de Menezes in the series. The cast also includes Conleth Hill as Sir Ian Blair, then Met Police Commissioner, Russell Tovey as one of Blair's Deputy Assistant Commissioners, Brian Paddick, and Max Beesley as Assistant Commissioner Andy Hayman, leading on the Met's investigation into the bombings.

The series is written and executive produced by Jeff Pope, with Kwadjo Dajan and Michael Mann serving as executive producers, alongside Pope, Dajan, Williams, and Lee Mason. Jean Charles de Menezes' parents and other relatives are serving as consultants for the series.

Suspect: The Shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes examines how memory can be turned into fact and shape our understanding of the truth. The series aims to delve into the events surrounding de Menezes' death and the impact it had on those involved and the wider community.
