Czech Supercar Praga Bohema Challenges Hybrid Hypercars

The Praga Bohema, a Czech supercar, has made waves in the automotive world by competing with hybrid hypercars. Its impressive downforce and low weight, coupled with its raw pace, have put it on par with some of the most advanced cars on the market.

At the heart of the Praga Bohema is a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, sourced from the Nissan GT-R. This powerhouse has been custom-fettled with features such as dry-sump lubrication, bespoke turbos, and a titanium exhaust, resulting in an output of 515kW and 725Nm.

The lightweight chassis of the Praga Bohema weighs under 1043kg, further enhancing its performance capabilities. This car generates an impressive 900kg of downforce at 250km/h, a testament to its aerodynamic design.

The Praga Bohema's track credentials are undeniable. Ben Collins, the former Stig on Top Gear, set the lap time for the Praga Bohema on road tyres with no modifications, establishing a new record for the fastest lap on the Top Gear Test Track for a non-hybrid car. The Praga Bohema's lap time was just slightly slower than the 850kW hybrid Aston Martin Valkyrie's benchmark, demonstrating its remarkable performance.

Ben Collins, now a test driver for Praga, drove the Praga Bohema to the Top Gear Test Track, further highlighting the car's potential. Three more Praga Bohemas will be delivered at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2023, giving enthusiasts a chance to witness this incredible car firsthand.

The Praga Bohema will be officially presented for the first time in 2025, with indications pointing towards events like the Goodwood Festival of Speed. A total of 89 Praga Bohemas will be produced, reflecting the company's founding year in 1907.

Customer deliveries of the Praga Bohema began in late 2023, marking the start of a new era for this Czech supercar. The Praga Bohema is not just a car; it's a testament to the spirit of innovation and performance that continues to drive the automotive industry forward.
