Unveiled: Exclusively Long List of Actors for the Alleged Sequel, "Avengers: Doomsday"
The highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday film is set to feature an impressive ensemble of characters from various Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) franchises, as revealed in a video and multiple reports.
According to insider Jeff Sneider, the second cast list for Avengers: Doomsday includes a large ensemble of confirmed MCU and 20th Century Fox (X-Men) actors. Among them are well-known returning heroes like Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards), Vanessa Kirby (Invisible Woman), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes), and new members from the X-Men universe such as Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), and James Marsden (Cyclops), along with others like Channing Tatum (Gambit) and Kelsey Grammer (Beast).
The official cast reveal on March 26, 2025, included 27 names, with nearly all actors in Sneider’s expanded list already confirmed on set or officially announced by Marvel Studios. The second cast list seems to extend beyond the initial reveal by including some additional names or clarifying character roles, but it does not conflict with the official roster.
Notable new additions to the Avengers: Doomsday cast include Karen Gillan (Nebula), Kathryn Newton (Cassie Lang), Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter), Brie Larson (Carol Danvers), Chris Evans (Steve Rogers), Maria Bakalova (Cosmo), Charlize Theron (Clea), Chris Pratt (Peter Quill), Danai Gurira (Okoye), Owen Wilson (Mobius), Xochitl Gomez (America Chavez), Don Cheadle (James Rhodes), Samuel Jackson (Nick Fury), Iman Vellani (Kamala Khan), Wunmi Mosaku (B-15), Famke Janssen (Jean Grey), Sophia Di Martino (Sylvie), and Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner).
Other notable characters reportedly joining the cast are Teyonah Parris (Monica Rambeau), Halle Berry (Storm), Ke Huy Quan (Ouroboros), Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton), Yahya Abdul-Mateen (Wonder Man), Tatiana Maslany (She-Hulk), Dominique Thorne (Riri Williams), Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), and Vin Diesel (Groot).
The Avengers: Doomsday film is also expected to have some hidden guest appearances or new characters. The film will reportedly have a cast of 58 characters, making it one of the largest ensembles in the MCU. However, the idea that the Doomsday cast could significantly increase in size, as suggested by the second list, seems illogical.
Despite the large cast, the Avengers: Doomsday film is not expected to include Spider-Man. The film is set to be released in theatres worldwide on May 1, 2026.
