Unusual Tide Reveals Historical Sites and Offers Rare Fishing Opportunity on Azov Sea Coast
Unusual weather conditions have led to a significant low tide along the coast of the Azov Sea, revealing hidden historical sites and allowing locals to catch fish by hand. The wind, blowing for over three days, has also caused a sharp drop in temperature, unusual for early October.
Fisherman Fedor Beilin and local resident Vladimir Yakolev have taken advantage of the low tide to collect sea bream by hand. The water has receded by about a meter from the banks of Yeisk, exposing coastal reinforcements from the 1920s and 1930s that were previously submerged. These reinforcements, part of the Soviet Union's military history, played a significant role in the country's air and sea power during that time. The wind is forecast to continue from the east and northeast with gusts up to 20 m/s for the next two days, potentially further exposing the sea floor and historical sites.
The low tide and strong winds have provided a unique opportunity for locals to engage with their coastal history and enjoy an unusual fishing experience. However, the weather conditions also pose challenges, with a sharp drop in temperature and potential disruptions to daily life. The wind is expected to continue, potentially causing further changes to the coastal landscape.
