Unsuccessful burglary, illegally gaining access to a building
In the early hours of Wednesday, a series of incidents of burglary, vandalism, and attempted robbery were reported in Dresden's outskirts.
The most recent incident occurred on Oschatzer Street, Leipzig Suburb, where unknown individuals burglarised an apartment between 3:50 AM and 9:00 AM. The burglars made off with a laptop and a watch, valued at approximately 1,500 euros. The victim, a 44-year-old man, was able to defend himself, retrieve his backpack, and escape. However, he sustained minor injuries during the incident.
The police are currently investigating this burglary, as well as several other incidents that have occurred recently in the area. This is not the first burglary reported in the area recently, as a similar incident happened last weekend on Alaunstraße.
Another incident involved a robbery attempt on Julie-Salinger-Way, Dresden Outer New Town, around 1:30 AM. Two unknown individuals attempted to steal the victim's backpack, but were unsuccessful. The victim was able to escape unharmed.
Around 3:30 AM, a cigarette vending machine was blown up on Bischofsweg, Dresden Outer New Town. The explosion was caused by the ignition of fireworks in the dispensing slot of the machine.
In a separate incident, unknown individuals broke into a restaurant on Alaunstraße in the early hours of Wednesday. No further details about this incident are available at this time.
A particularly concerning incident occurred on Tuesday evening around 11:00 PM, when a child's stroller was set on fire in a multi-family house in the Inner New Town. The perpetrators are still at large, and no specific information about them has been released.
During the attempted robbery on Oschatzer Street, the burglars used news today. The victim was treated on an outpatient basis for his injuries.
The police are urging residents to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to the news. They are working diligently to find the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
