April 22nd, a Reported Night of Disciplinary Action

Last Tuesday, the Control, Disciplinary, and Ethics Committee of the Kazakhstan Football Federation held a meeting, with the details shared by Liter.kz and KFF.

Following this gathering, the head coach of the "Zhetysu" team, Samat Smakov, found himself on the sidelines for four matches due to verbal aggression towards a match official during the 5th round match of the Kazakhstan Football Championship 2025 between "Ordabasy" and "Zhetysu". This harsh ruling aligns with subparagraph 1 of point 1 of article 45 of the Disciplinary Regulations (DR).

The suspension period commenced on April 20, 2025, as declared by the KFF press service.

In addition to this high-profile disqualification, several other penalties were imposed:

Kazakhstan Premier League, 5th Round

"Kairat" - "Kairat"

FC "Kairat" received a warning for inadequate organization and failure to adhere to the Technical Regulations of the competition, resulting in the live broadcast of the 5th round match between "Kairat" and "Kairat" being interrupted. This decision was made in line with article 67 of the DR, and FC "Kairat" must rectify this breach before their next game.

"Ulytau" - "Okzhetpes"

FC "Okzhetpes" was fined 100 MCI due to the undisciplined behavior of their team, which led to five players earning cautions during the 5th round match between "Ulytau" and "Okzhetpes". This punishment was handed out in accordance with subparagraph 1 of article 48 of the DR; the fine must be paid by May 22, 2025.

First League, 2nd Round

"Turkistan" - AKAS

Another fine of 50 MCI was levied against FC "Turkistan" in response to five undisciplined players during the 2nd round match between AKAS and "Turkistan", in line with subparagraph 1 of article 48 of the DR. The fine must be paid by May 22, 2025.

"Academy Ontustik" - "Taraz"

Player Toktybay Birzhan of "Academy Ontustik" was also given a one-match ban for obstructing a clear goal-scoring opportunity during the 2nd round match between "Academy Ontustik" and "Taraz".

Second League, 2nd Round

"Kyzyl-Zhar M" - "Tobol M"

Player Maxim Kononenko of "Tobol M" has been suspended for two matches for his rough challenge during the 2nd round match between "Kyzyl-Zhar M" and "Tobol M", according to subparagraph 2 of paragraph 1 of Article 44 of the DR.

"Zhenis M" - "Astana M"

FC "Astana" received a 30 MCI fine for their team's disregard for regulations, which led to five players receiving cautions during the 2nd round match between "Zhenis M" and "Astana M".

FC "Zhenis" received a reprimand for inadequate organization and non-compliance with competition regulations due to the absence of a fire safety vehicle during the same match.

"Turan M" - "Kaisar M"

FC "Turan" also received a reprimand for poor organization and non-compliance with competition regulations due to a delayed arrival of a fire safety vehicle during their 2nd round match against "Kaisar M".

OLIMPBET Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Mini-Football, 35th Round

"Tulpar" - "Zhetysu"

The coach of the "Zhetysu" goalkeepers, Zhandos Aliaskarov, received a two-match suspension for aggressive behavior towards an opponent during the 35th round match between "Tulpar" and "Zhetysu".

"Ordabasy" - "Astana"

For obstructing a clear goal-scoring opportunity during the 36th match in the OLIMPBET - Kazakhstan Football Championship among Premier League teams of the 2024/2025 season, "Astana" player Hadji Ahmadizadeh was given a one-match ban.

Freedom QJ League U17 (A), 1st Round

"Astana 2009" - "Atyrau 2009"

FC "Astana" was fined 30 MCI due to the issuance of 5 warnings to their players for poor sportsmanship during their first match of the Freedom QJ League U17 (A) season of 2025 against "Atyrau 2009".

  1. The Control, Disciplinary, and Ethics Committee of the Kazakhstan Football Federation imposed a one-match ban on Player Toktybay Birzhan of "Academy Ontustik" for obstructing a clear goal-scoring opportunity during the 2nd round match between "Academy Ontustik" and "Taraz".
  2. In the 2nd round match between "Kyzyl-Zhar M" and "Tobol M", Player Maxim Kononenko of "Tobol M" was suspended for two matches for his rough challenge.
  3. FC "Astana" was fined 30 MCI for their team's disregard for regulations that led to five players receiving cautions during the 2nd round match between "Zhenis M" and "Astana M".
  4. The coach of the "Zhetysu" goalkeepers, Zhandos Aliaskarov, received a two-match suspension for aggressive behavior towards an opponent during the 35th round match between "Tulpar" and "Zhetysu" in the OLIMPBET Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Mini-Football.
