Unscrupulous Reasoning Shared Among KMT, TPP, and Criminal Elements

In a series of recent events, the Kuomintang (KMT) and Taiwan People's Party (TPP) have found themselves in a sticky situation, much like a thief with his head stuck in a doordash. The analogy stems from their controversial amendment to the Act Governing the Allocation of Government Revenues and Expenditures.

The amendment, passed by the KMT, resulted in a significant increase in centrally-funded tax revenues for local governments. However, opposition criticism suggests that this amendment was flawed and financially burdensome to the central government.

The KMT, represented by the thief in this metaphor, recklessly forced through this amendment, much like a burglar breaking into a home. In 2021, a theft occurred in Xichang, Sichuan Province, China, and in a separate incident in July, a thief broke into a house in Suqian, Jiangsu Province.

The KMT and TPP are now blaming the Executive Yuan for not warning them about their flawed formula, much like a thief blaming the homeowner for not installing proper security. In the Xichang incident, a man surnamed He was caught and allegedly requested a meeting with the victim, a woman surnamed Liu. When Liu asked He how it was her fault that she was robbed, he replied that they were both partially responsible, as she had not installed proper security.

The KMT and TPP have rallied supporters to 'order' the Executive Yuan to adjust the legislation to satisfy their original interests. However, in their latest actions, they failed to separate fiscal allocations for the three outlying counties from the 19 municipalities on Taiwan proper, much like a thief who cannot escape a locked door.

As a result, the amount of taxpayers' money the KMT and TPP seized was not as much as they originally anticipated, much like a thief who gets caught and has to face the consequences of his actions. The police had to call the fire department to saw through the door's metal frame to rescue the nearly suffocated man, symbolising the efforts being made to rectify the situation.

Vincent Hong, a writer and technology industry retiree, urges the KMT and TPP to return to the correct path and put their effort toward doing something beneficial for Taiwan's sustainable development. The KMT and TPP are echoing each other's malicious deeds, behaving in a way that is quite telling. He admitted to breaking into Liu's home but claimed he did not want her money; he found the lock code too simple and was merely 'messing around.'

The KMT and TPP are being compared to a thief who was caught with his head stuck in a doordash, implying they are in a difficult and embarrassing situation. It remains to be seen how they will extricate themselves from this predicament and regain the trust of the Taiwanese people.
