Unrest over Immigration Sweeps Persists Throughout the United States: A Glimpse at Multiple Demonstrations
Tensions over federal immigration enforcement actions and President Trump's deployment of the National Guard and Marines to Los Angeles continue to cause waves of protests sweeping across the nation.
While many protests have been serene, with participants chanting slogans and carrying signs against the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, some demonstrations have turned violent, leading to several arrests and the use of chemical irritants to disperse crowds.
Activists have announced even more significant demonstrations in the near future, including "No Kings" events nationwide on Saturday to coincide with Mr. Trump's planned military parade through Washington, D.C.

Chicago
City officials have confirmed that the President is sending ICE tactical teams to Chicago – a move that prompted the protests in Los Angeles. At a news conference, Cristina Pacione-Zayas, chief of staff to Mayor Brandon Johnson, revealed that the city has received word that these tactical teams are on standby for 48 hours.
Los Angeles
A group of demonstrators who'd gathered outside the federal buildings in downtown L.A.'s curfew zone marched out of the area just after the curfew went into effect for a second night. A smaller crowd of people nearby was seen being detained approximately 20 minutes after curfew, with our News Los Angeles helicopter overhead.
Seattle
Police reported that a demonstration began with a peaceful march, but officers intervened when some protesters set fire to a dumpster at an intersection. As police waited for the Seattle Fire Department to arrive, some demonstrators confronted them, throwing bottles, rocks, and concrete chunks. A protestor also threw a large firework at officers, but no one was injured. Police issued dispersal orders and arrested eight people for assault and obstruction.
Spokane, Washington
More than 30 individuals were arrested in downtown Spokane Wednesday night as anti-ICE protesters clashed with police. The demonstration reportedly started with community members gathering at the Spokane ICE office to protest the detainment of a 21-year-old Venezuelan seeking asylum. The demonstrators and police eventually clashed, with police using pepper balls to control the crowd and the city's mayor declaring a state of emergency.
Las Vegas
Hundreds of individuals gathered outside the Las Vegas Federal Courthouse, with the protest remaining peaceful until around 9 p.m. when police issued a dispersal order and declared the situation an unlawful assembly due to the protestors engaging in illegal activity. The crowd dispersed 15 minutes later.
New York
Multiple arrests occurred at a protest against ICE raids in lower Manhattan Wednesday.
Portland, Oregon
Around 60-70 protesters were seen outside the Portland ICE facility late Wednesday night, it was reported. The protesters again appeared to be setting up a barricade in front of the building.
