A large group of individuals disturbed the peace of Leipzig's Volkmarsdorf district on Friday night. The group, estimated at around 80 people, marched through the neighborhood, setting off pyrotechnics and hurling stones at windows of the future police station.
The police received reports at approximately 22:10 about the group, which was proceeding down Hermann-Liebmann-Straße bearing a banner and igniting pyrotechnics. They damaged several windows at the planned police station's building on Eisenbahnstraße by throwing stones and paint bombs. Afterward, the group dispersed, with its members managing to evade detection.

A multi-hour closure of the A14 heading towards Magdeburg took place on Sunday as a result of a burning trailer. Around 10:10, an articulated lorry with Romanian registration broke down between the junctions Mutzschen and Grimma due to a technical failure. Unexplained reasons caused a fire in the trailer's axle area, which spread to the entire trailer and the loaded cargo of roof tiles for the automotive industry.
The 34-year-old driver prevented the fire from reaching the tractor unit by decoupling it promptly. Closure began around 10:15 at the Mutzschen junction for essential firefighting operations and subsequent trailer recovery.
Alternative routes were implemented via the Mutzschen junction, with no injuries reported. The badly damaged trailer incurred approximately 100,000 euros in total loss. Recovery operations are still ongoing, and the full closure remains in effect.

A collision occurred on the A9, resulting in three injuries and the closure of a lane heading towards Munich. An 80-year-old man driving a VW on the middle lane failed to notice a Mercedes ( driver: 56) in the same lane between the exits Großkugel and Leipzig-West, leading to the vehicles colliding.
The driver, his 83-year-old passenger, and the Mercedes driver suffered severe injuries and were transported to hospitals for specialized treatment. The accident caused a lane closure from 12:45 to 14:15 for emergency services, including the deployment of a rescue helicopter. Damages were estimated at around 60,000 euros. The Autobahn police are investigating due to a case of suspected negligence resulting in bodily harm.

Mystery assailants forced their way into several rooms of a Leipzig kindergarten during the early hours of Saturday, apparently seeking valuables. The perpetrators, unknown to authorities, apparently gained unauthorized access to the kindergarten's basement rooms at approximately midnight and stole tools from the caretaker's room. With these tools, the assailants forcibly opened doors within the facility and searched the rooms for valuable items.

Several politically-charged graffiti were spray-painted on various locations in Leipzig's city center last night, causing property damage. The perpetrators used purple paint to scrawl two inscriptions on the Old Stock Exchange's facade at the Naschmarkt, measuring roughly 1.1 x 1.4 meters and 0.9 x 0.6 meters. On Kurt-Masur-Platz's sidewalk, they spray-painted three more inscriptions in assorted colors and sizes, ranging from one to four meters. In addition, a black inscription was left on the facade of the City History Museum at Böttchergässchen.
