In Hyderabad, India, a complaint was filed at the Film Nagar police station concerning the theft of a hard disk containing visual effects for the upcoming film "Kannappa." The hard disk, containing sensitive footage, was sent to Twenty Four Frames Factory Private Limited from Hive Studios in Mumbai via DTDC courier. The parcel was received by a staff member named Raghu, who then handed it over to a woman named Charitha. However, Charitha has reportedly gone missing since receiving the hard disk.

Raghu and Charitha are the primary suspects in the theft, with the executive producer, Reddy Vijaykumar, alleging they were involved with malicious intent to damage the project. An inspector confirmed that a case has been registered, and the police are currently investigating the incident.

"Kannappa," directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and featuring Vishnu Manchu, is a mythological epic based on Bhakta Kannappa's story and boasts a star-studded cast, including Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal, Prabhas, Kajal Aggarwal, and Preity Mukundhan. The theft has caused significant disruption to the film's production and raised concerns about potential financial losses if the content is leaked or deleted.
