Unregistered individual John Catsimatidis Jr. suspected of spearheading the anti-Zohran Mamdani Independent Expenditure group in New York City, absent from NYC Campaign Finance Board.
In the political landscape of summer 2025, a new player has emerged with ambitious goals to combat Democratic Socialists of America and socialism nationwide. The Progress & Prosperity PAC, founded by John Catsimatidis Jr., has already made waves in the political sphere.
John Catsimatidis Jr., a well-known figure in the Republican party, launched the PAC with the support of some high-profile associates. Among them is Jason Boles, a confidant of GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene from Georgia. John Pence, the stepson of former Vice President Mike Pence and the son of GOP Rep. Greg Pence of Indiana, also plays a significant role in the PAC.
John Catsimatidis Jr. took credit for forming the PAC, while John Catsimatidis Sr., a billionaire and associate of President Donald Trump, claimed that he is not a founder or owner of the PAC. He did, however, take the lead in a radio spot titled 'Stop Socialism, Save Our City,' which was financed by the PAC and aired on Aug. 1.
The PAC's primary focus appears to be national, with John Catsimatidis Jr.'s ambitions reaching far beyond local politics. The PAC was incorporated anonymously in Delaware on July 29 and filed paperwork with the Federal Elections Commission under the stewardship of Jason Boles and John Pence.
Despite the PAC's clear political intentions, there is a lack of information available about the backgrounds of John Pence and Jason Boles in relation to the founding of the Progress & Prosperity PAC. What is known, however, is that John Pence served as an adviser to Trump's 2020 campaign, and Jason Boles briefly worked as treasurer to former Long Island Rep. George Santos.
John Pence's reputation is one of high regard, which is why he was brought in by House leadership. John Catsimatidis Jr. described John Pence as a 'friend' who recommended Jason Boles. John Pence, in turn, stated that Jason Boles' affiliation with George Santos' campaign came after Santos' campaign finance issues.
The Progress & Prosperity PAC's latest move has been to blast Assembly Member Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic mayoral nominee. The PAC's actions have raised questions about its compliance with registration requirements, but John Catsimatidis Sr. mentioned that this is not in his control.
In the complex world of politics, the Progress & Prosperity PAC is a new force to be reckoned with, led by influential figures with connections to some of the most prominent Republican leaders in the country. As the PAC continues to make its mark, more information about its operations and intentions will undoubtedly come to light.
