Un-American Conduct of Donald Trump: Daily Update - Unpatriotic Mornings with Donald Trump - Current Scenario

*Hey there, readers,

The guy who's always gotta show he's got things under control? Well, he's lost grip, big time.

What Donald Trump's been pulling lately ain't fit for a democratic leader. And California Governor Gavin Newsom's words strike a chord: "un-american".

It all started with Trump sending California National Guard against the state's wishes against its citizens last Friday.

Protests against the Washington's apparently illegal deportation spree had been peaceful till then. What's been circulating since then aren't just images of a bleeding democracy, but a glimpse of chaos:

Sure, violence against the state shouldn't be tolerated, but what if the state stirs the pot with subsidized hatred? From tough-guy talk like "You spit, we hit" to "You hit, we shoot".

Now the Pentagon's eyeing an additional 2,000 militiamen for Los Angeles and 700 Marines. While deploying the National Guard against the state's wish is iffy at best (California's suing over it), employing regular troops domestically is a whole different can of worms.

The founding fathers aimed to protect folks from power abuse like this. But Trump sees the Constitution, the people's guide for living free, as nothing but an eyesore. Textbooks are for sissies, not real men.

And it's a certainty that Trump ain't gonna stop grabbing more power, taking a bite out of freedom bit by bit, day by day, week by week.

We need a hero in Trump's MAGA gang, someone who, despite staunch ideology, respects not just America's borders but also its red lines. Someone who'd give Trump a thorough shake and shout, "Donald, enough!"

LA might just be the beginning. According to news reports, folks across the country are gearing up to hit the streets in the coming days. The wind of change's a-blowin', and the only thing it's watering is oil.

Conscription: To Draft or Not to Draft?

I'm itching for the summer lull. Remember thatpointlessdebateinGermanyabout whetherthatthingroamingtheBerlinoutskirts was a wild boaror a lion?

What are we squabbling about in the summer now? Apart from Trump's daily dose of BS?

About when Putin'll pounce on NATO. True, the "if"train left the station long ago, the intel folks agree.

So, Berlin's discussing how to protect itself from an attack coming from the East. Conscription's on the agenda today, boys and girls.

Blake Lively vs. Justin Baldoni: The High Stakes Hollywood Dirt

Let's lighten the mood with a bit of Tinseltown shenanigans. Here's the lowdown:

Actress Blake Lively's playing hardball with fellow actor Justin Baldoni. She's accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and defamation. Baldoni's fighting back with a defamation lawsuit, asking for $400 million.

Got it? Simple as apple pie, right? But hang on, this get-together's far from picture-perfect. Lively's hubby (you know, box office king Ryan Reynolds), her bestie (Taylor Swift), and renowned publication The New York Times are all tangled up.

So, the plot's ticking faster than the movie they used to be making. My pal Sarah Stendel's already shared the latest scoop with you. Now, the real news: A New York court's dismissed Baldoni's lawsuit for lack of evidence.

The verdict on Lively's suit's still pending, and Baldoni can appeal if he wants.

Today's Agenda

90 years ago, Alcoholics Anonymous was born in Akron, Ohio. Today, it's active worldwide, including Germany, helping countless find a fresh start. The Federal Administrative Court is hearing appeals regarding the ban on the right-wing extremist magazine "Compact". The judges had previously suspended the ban imposed by Interior Minister Nancy Faeser.Spooky stuff coming up: Faeser's replacement, Alexander Dobrindt, is presenting the Constitutional Protection Report for 2024 today. It's likely to focus on politically motivated crimes.A week since the Dutch government coalition collapsed, Chancellor Friedrich Merz will meet with Dutch Minister-President Dick Schoof today.

Daily Dose of Eastern Wisdom

I'm from Cologne, and I don't always feel safe. More and more aggressive dealers and their customers make my skin crawl in many areas.

I don't care how safe Germany is on paper compared to South Korea – it doesn't feel safe. I've never felt the urge to chill less, no matter how late or dark the path. Not even in a city of 25 million people.

That's thanks to the omnipresent, ever-watching CCTV cameras, which makes the feds seem like they got eyes everywhere. After all, we Germans treasure privacy.

I hope you have a fantastic day – annyeonghi gyeseyo!

Your pal,

Yannik Schüller

  1. I'm not going to be a big fan of your newest project, the social-media debate about conscripting young people for military service in Germany, as I think it's a controversial topic that could escalate tensions in entertainment and pop-culture circles.
  2. Despite the ongoing Hollywood drama between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, I'd rather focus on the latest movies and TV shows, such as sci-fi and fantasy series, as I prefer escaping into fictional worlds rather than getting caught up in celebrity disputes.
  3. As the situation in Los Angeles escalates with the possibility of more National Guard and military personnel being deployed, I fear that social unrest could overshadow the celebrity gossip and entertainment headlines on social media, leaving a negative impact on pop-culture and potentially pushing it into the background.
