In a series of recent arrests, the Federal Police in Germany have apprehended two men, aged 30 and 64, for separate offences.
The 64-year-old Polish man was arrested in Horka on a warrant issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Cottbus. In December 2022, the Cottbus Local Court found him guilty of tax evasion in conjunction with tax fraud and imposed a fine of €1,200, along with €684.19 in court costs. The details of the arrest were confirmed by the Federal Police Inspectorate Ludwigsdorf, headed by an unspecified individual.
Meanwhile, the 30-year-old Polish man was arrested in Görlitz on Sunday during entry control at the city bridge. The Passau Local Court had previously convicted him of an offence under the Weapons Act in August 2024, resulting in a fine of €1,131 (including court costs).
Both men were unable to settle their debts with the state and are now serving their sentences in prison.
