Unofficial Test between India A and Australia A Concludes in a Draw: Dhruv Jurel and Devdutt Padikkal Impress with Their Performances

India A and Australia A ended the first four-dayer in a draw at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, as rain washed out the final day's play. The draw came after an impressive display of batting from the Indian side, particularly from Devdutt Padikkal and Dhruv Jurel.

Starting Day 4 at 222 for 4, trailing Australia A by 190 runs, the Indian team was struggling. However, Padikkal and Jurel put on a partnership exceeding 200 runs, stabilizing the India A innings against Australia A's massive 532/6 declared.

Padikkal, a left-handed top-order batsman from Kerala, scored a composed century for India A. He reached the milestone of 198 deliveries with a single against Corey Rocchiccioli, marking his seventh first-class hundred and crossing 3000 first-class runs. Jurel, on the other hand, was unbeaten on 113 in the first four-dayer, while B Sai Sudharsan, N Jagadeesan, and other Indian batsmen also contributed with more than 50 runs each.

In response, Australia A finished at 56/0 at the end of Day 4, with Sam Konstas (27) and Campbell Kellaway (24) remaining unbeaten.

The second four-dayer between India A and Australia A will be played in Lucknow, starting from September 23. The series, which is being held as an unofficial Test series, promises to be an exciting contest between the two strong sides.

Devdutt Padikkal, who has played for Karnataka, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Rajasthan Royals, and India internationally in T20 and Test formats, was the star performer for India A in the first match. He has been consistently delivering impressive performances and is a key player to watch out for in the upcoming matches.

In the first innings, Australia A won the toss and batted first, declaring at 532 after six wickets down. The Indian team began Day 3 trailing by 416 runs. On Day 3, Jurel struck his second first-class century for India A, while Padikkal added another 50 runs to his total.

In the end, India A responded strongly, declaring 531/7, thanks to Jurel's 140 and Padikkal's 150. The Indian team declared the innings after the duo's return to the dugout at 531-7.

The first match of the series ended in a draw, but the second match promises to be an exciting contest between the two strong sides. With Padikkal and Jurel in form, India A will be looking to put up a strong fight against Australia A.
