Unnoticeable Shifts: Exploring Unexplored Paths

In the heart of Detmold, a special event is set to take place on August 10th – the 150th birthday celebration of the Herman Monument. This historic occasion is not just a celebration, but also the centre of an intriguing bet between Christian Schmidt and Dirk Baldus, and Jörg Dünning-Gast and Frank Hilker.

The bet, known as the "Hermann Gathering," aims to assemble 150 people named Hermann (or Armin) and at least one person named Thusnelda at the foot of the Herman Monument at 3 pm on August 10th. To participate, individuals must fill out a winning coupon on the city bet flyer and hand it in to a member of the advertising association "The Traders" by August 13th. A stand will be set up to verify the identities of those participating.

For those who qualify and wish to participate, a group photo will be taken at the Herman Monument on August 10th at 3 pm. As a token of appreciation, participants will receive a free exit ticket for the monument parking lot, a small refreshment, and information about the bet party.

The bet settlement will take place five days later on Detmold's market square, where a Lippe-style bet show will be held. The show will feature music and talk, with performances by Ingo Dickewied singing the greatest hits of Udo Jürgens, Hans-Dieter Buckoh and the "Steckenpferde" from Pivitsheide V.L. and Weilun Zhu on the piano.

Additionally, the "In Zukunft Innenstadt" team and "The Traders" are organizing additional acts for the event. There will also be a raffle for three city vouchers among the attendees on August 15th.

However, it's important to note that the specific attendance detail of how many persons named Hermann will be present at the Hermann Statue in Detmold on August 10 at 3 p.m. is not documented in the sources. The Hermannsdenkmal is a well-known monument in Detmold, but such precise visitor information is not typically recorded or published.

So, if you're named Hermann (or Armin) or Thusnelda, join us on August 10th and 15th to be a part of this unique and exciting event in Detmold's history!
