Worried about potential dangers, the public order office requested help from the bomb squad as a precaution. By Friday afternoon, the team had given the green light and safely cleared away the bomb remains.

Just last week, a pedestrian stumbled upon two grenades from World War II smack dab in the middle of a nature reserve near Franzosenstraße in Hiesfelder Wald. The grenades were deemed too dangerous to defuse and were detonated instead.
