The 37th Days of Jewish Culture in Berlin is set to take place from November 13 to November 23, 2025, under the theme Atid: Die Zukunft beginnt jetzt (Atid: The future begins now). Hosted by the Jewish Community of Berlin, this cultural festival invites visitors to explore a diverse range of Jewish cultural expressions across the city.

Artistic and Cultural Events

The festival will feature a variety of performances, film screenings, and discussions that explore Jewish identity, history, and arts. Past editions have included family concerts, exhibitions, and author talks at the Jewish Museum and other cultural venues. Exhibitions at the Jewish Museum Berlin

The Jewish Museum Berlin, Europe's largest Jewish museum, will be a central location for the festival. It offers symbolic architecture and exhibitions that span Jewish life from the early Middle Ages to today, with a strong focus on National Socialism and contemporary Jewish culture.

Citywide Immersive Experience

Besides the Jewish Museum in Kreuzberg, events will take place throughout Berlin, involving theaters, cultural centers, and synagogues to create an immersive experience of Jewish culture citywide.

Unmissable Acts and Events

  • Opening Event: The Jüdische Kulturtage will commence with a performance by Israeli singer Shiri Maimon, accompanied by The Berlin Symphony Orchestra on September 12th. Israeli street artist Benzi Brofman will create large-scale artwork on the spot during the performance.
  • Closing Ceremony: The closing ceremony will take place at Bebelplatz on September 22nd at 14:00. The ceremony will include the transcribing of the names of 1,200 people killed into a new Torah scroll, live music, dance, and a unity procession. The ceremony will take place at the historic site of the 1933 book burning.
  • Franz Kafka Walking Tour: A Franz Kafka walking tour will take place on September 15th, starting at the New Synagogue Berlin. The tour is open to anyone over the age of 15.
  • Graffiti Workshop: A graffiti workshop with Benzi Brofman will take place on September 16th, open to both children (ages 10+) and adults.
  • Family-Friendly Movie Screening: The family-friendly movie Abulele will be screened at Kino in der Kulturbrauerei on September 18th, starting at 10:30.
  • Bestselling Author David Walliams: Bestselling author David Walliams will read from his new book Robodog at the literature tent at Bebelplatz on September 20th from 11:00 to 12:30.
  • Israeli Indie-Folk Band Jane Bordeaux: Israeli indie-folk band Jane Bordeaux will perform at Synagoge Ryckestraße on September 21st at 21:00.

Other Events

  • A calligraphy workshop will take place at Bebelplatz on September 19th from 10:30 to 12:00.
  • The movie premiere of The Monkey House by Avi Nesher will take place on September 16th at Prenzlauer Berg's Kulturbrauerei.
  • After a 12-year break, Shiri Maimon will release a new record this summer.
  • The new Torah scroll has been in the making for almost a year.
