Unmissable: Black-and-white art sculptures, female inmates, the debut film Ied, and the European Union's global influence
On the evening of 6 PM, Turin will be a hub of cultural activity as several events unfold across the city.
At GAM - Galleria Civica d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, Claudia Cieri Via will present the conference "Light and Time - Monochrome through Light", focusing on paintings and sculptures with limited colour and the multiple readings they offer. This event is part of the Resonances series, curated by Chiara Bertola and Federico Vercellone. Admission to the conference is 6 euros.
Simultaneously, at the Domori Damman store, Piazza San Carlo 177, Pierluigi Franco will present his book "What Remains of Europe. The Fate of the Union between Crisis and Revival". Riccardo Illy will participate in a discussion about the book, delving into Pierluigi Franco's current interest in the significance of the European Union and its ongoing challenges and reforms. The event requires reservation.
Meanwhile, at Ramo d'Oro in Galleria Umberto I 52, the new IED Torino fashion film titled "The Perfect Match" will be presented. This collective tale features young designers and their creations. Following the film, Ivan Cazzola, Enrico Grigoletti (VP of Brands - CP Company), and fashion journalist Jacopo Bedussi will have a conversation about contemporary fashion. The event at Ramo d'Oro is free of admission.
In the world of literature, Giuseppe Culicchia will present Giovanni Bianconi's book "Una come noi" at the Circle of Readers at 6 PM. The book, which discusses the European federal state project, the weight of the EU on the international stage, and the possibility of integration with 27 states, is a thought-provoking read. At 9 PM, Alessandro Perissinotto and Piero d'Ettorre's book "L'inganno di Magritte" will be discussed at the same venue.
The film "L'inganno di Magritte" is a gripping story set in a sports arena transformed into a stage, with the city reflecting creativity and visual languages. The story revolves around a woman accused of killing her husband who shares a cell with her young daughter.
As the evening progresses, these diverse events promise to offer a rich cultural experience for the residents and visitors of Turin.
